A Day Too Late

Let me explain. A few weeks before Christmas I had a parcel to collect from the sorting office. Which just happens to be around the corner from two big charity shops. So it would have been rude not to pop in and have a look now wouldn't it?

Anyway a small, vintage, white Christmas tree grabbed my attention. It was just the right size for Maisie's room and at £2 was perfect. So whilst I'm paying for it the guy says...

'Have you seen those 70's trees over there?'

Me (acting as casual as I could whilst frantically scanning the shop!) 'Which trees where?'

Oh yeh, one look at I knew a few were coming home with me!

I knew that one of them would be perfect for my small collection of Russian/Estonian vintage glass baubles in various vegetable shapes.

...and my fav the pea pod.Cute no?

Another of the trees went in Lily's bedroom and the last one in the playroom. No decorations as it was just perfect as it was.

Anyway. Then the guy says 'Have you seen the glass baubles'

Vintage Glass Baubles people.Lots of them in lovely boxes. No photos sorry as they are packed away again.

I think I was seriously hyperventilating at this point.

I had the hugest smile on my face until he said.

'You should have been here yesterday love.We had loads of stuff.A builder found some new old stock in a shop he bought and donated it to us. Then a guy from Afflecks Palace came in yesterday and bought loads.'

I am only guessing the good stuff that was there the day before me!

So like I said a day too late. Never mind. I still scored pretty well.

Love the retroness of them, especially the stands. They look terrific.

i am sooo jealous, maybe just maybe next year I could look after them for you?

Love those trees!! I'm always on the look out for trees like those but they always seem to cost a million dollars and I can't afford them. So jealous!

Fab finds... I love those trees! I always seem to be a day, hour or minute too late for things... I would rather just not know what I missed out on!
