In My Previous Life...

Well I'm back.I only have a few minutes as my darling hubby has popped out.He isn't very tolerant of my blogging time sometimes!

I have a dilemma. In my previous life, that is the one before blogging,I had quite a good little ebay thing going on.I did really well selling my vintage finds and it was a good little money earner.Since blogging almost none of my on-line time has been devoted to poor old ebay.I am still thrifting for things to sell but just not listing! As you can imagine things are building up.Just look at my cellar...

Yes almost everything you see needs to be photographed, weighed, measured and described. Then packaged and posted! It's not the only place full to the brim there's the garage and the wardrobes and even under the beds!Aghhhh!!!You can see my dilemma.

Last time I did an ebay or stay it really spurred me on and I actually got lots listed and sold.So here I am again asking for your help.Let me know whether the following items should 'Stay or Ebay'.

First is a lovely floral print probably from the 40's maybe slightly later.I do love it and it could possibly hang in my utility room when it's finished.

Next is a lovely vintage umbrella.I think it dates from the 1960's.It is pretty but do I really need it?

Then there's this lovely Ridgeway large serving bowl again from the 60's maybe earlier.I had to buy it as it was a bargain but it doesn't really fit in with the rest of my dishes.

Lastly (for now) is a set of vintage tins.I bought this set because of the shelves.I have some lovely tins that I want to display and this shelf is perfect.I just don't know whether to keep the tins or not! There are 3 vintage Tala tins (bottom) and 3 vinatge Garrison tins (top). They are very well used and a little rusty outside. The insides are lovely and clean so still useable.

Whilst I was routing I came across these two treasures. Now they are very well used and do show lots of signs of wear outside.I think that they have been kept somewhere a little damp and the paint has flaked off in a number of places and a little rust as you can see. They would still make lovely storage and display items but probably won't sell on eBay.So if anyone would like to do a swap I could do with some ribbon!Any colours, patterns and sizes would be greatly appreciated!!

First is a vintage Tala tea tin...

...and then there's a very similar unmarked sugar shaker...

So first come first served basis.Just leave a comment and send me an email if you are interested.

Don't forget to let me know about the ebay or stay items aswell please!

Doors and Floors,Highs and Lows!

Thank you all so much for your comments about my stay or eBay lots! Its been such fun reading your thoughts.I have decided to keep the magazine rack(for now) as I doubt I would find another one!The tray and basket will be listed tomorrow though as I have far too many of both and something has to go!I'll list the tray at a reasonable starting price but the basket will start at 99p just for fun.I have even managed to put a link in my sidebar so you'll be able to see how they do!I suprised myself as I am almost computer illiterate!

Well I thought that today I would have been able to show you all my new french doors and window in the kitchen. However as always this lovely house of ours has thrown up some surprises.Needless to say they are not finished and won't be until well into next week..aghhh!As for the floor well that's another can of worms! The long and short of it is that we have to dig up the floor to a depth of 12" yes that's a whole foot deep!To lay proper foundation for a new floor. As the kitchen is about 23 foot long and 12 foot wide you can imagine how big a job it will be.I am so dreading it but it has to be done before anything else can be.Well that's the doors, floors and lows sorted!I'll finish with a high....

2006_0220blog0047  .

..we just found out that our eldest has a place at the Church of England high school we wanted for the next school year. It's a real blessing as it is such a good school. It's not in our local authority but it has a fantastic reputation and just felt right for us.The school bus even passes the end of our road!It will be a big step for her as none of her friends will be going. This will be a good thing as she has suffered from some bullying at her present school. She is so excited by the fact that she can start again where no-one knows her and just be who she wants to be, our beautiful Lily!

Catch Up Post Number 1 (Stay or Ebay?)

This is the last of 3 posts today (even though I numbered them upside down)Well I haven't posted since sat so I'm playing catch-up!I have been so busy this weekend getting ready for our new windows(see last post) but also feeding my other online addiction eBay.I have so many treasures to list  I really need to get on top of it before my house starts to look like a jumble sale!So I spent a few days sorting and photographing ready for listing.Whilst I was busy there were a few items that I couldn't decide whether to keep or not and I thought it might be fun if I ask you all what you think. So should they stay or eBay!

Here's the first item it's a vintage metal magazine rack.Made by Worcester Ware probably in the late 1940's.

I'm not sure where it could go but I do kind of like it in an odd way!Next is a tv dinner  or bed tray by the same company but probably from the 1950's.

Lastly this week is the childs wicker basket I picked up at Emmaus (see earlier post) .Again it probably dates from the 1940's and is so cute. The only thing is I have 4 girls and can just see fights all round!

I would love to hear what you all think good or bad!I am going to add a link in my sidebar to my eBay listings (connietreasure) so have a nosey if you like to see what I sell. That is when I have time and can bear to part with my treasure.Well I am a magpie by nature you know!
