Well hello there old friends. Seems such a long time since I sat down here and wrote anything. Lots has been happening some good and some well not so good to be honest. Nothing overwhelmingly bad so don't feel all sorry for us. We am completely blessed in my life and thankfully most of our trials are small ones these days.
One of the good things that happened was that our guinea pig, Florence, had 3 adorable babies on Bonfire Night. Which was hastily followed by the death of two of our oldest guinea pigs,Sarah and Molly.
They just suddenly became unwell and sadly died. After doing some research and taking some advice we think they may have had mange mites. I had no idea they could be so harmful. Now we know what to look for and how to treat it I'm sure the rest will be fine.
We will definitely be keeping this little cutie, Bonnie, who is the only girl in the litter. We also have a little girl a similar age who just happened to need a new home at the right time. So although we had some sadness the new babies have definitely taken our minds off the loss.
Unfortunately though we have since lost yet another cat, Hamish, in the 7 years we have lived here we have had 7 cats run over and killed. This means we have had to take the heartbreaking decision not to have anymore cats. It's just not fair on them. I have always had a cat from being very young and it feels very strange not having a little meow to greet me every morning.
Hopefully I'll be back soon with some more uplifting news.
