At the minute I feel like I always have something to do.Some little job that's waiting for my undivided attention.Time management isn't my favourite thing.I hate the rigidity of routines and would much rather do things I am in the mood for.Driving to our postal sorting office is something I am rarely in the mood for not matter what is in the parcel waiting for me!
So this week I decided to combine it with a spot of speed thrifting.I only had an hour on the parking meter and potentially 7 charity shops and the weekly flea market to visit. The best scores of the day were definitely found in the first shop.
A whole host of vintage bobbins both cotton and wool.I even got a reel of vintage knicker elastic. I only bought 2 large reels of wool as it's not something I use, but can never resist a red and aqua combination, then of course as soon as I got home I wished I'd bought more so I think another visit is in order don't you?
I was about to leave more than happy with my haul when I had one of those heart racing 'I must get to it before anybody else does' moments!Even though there was no-one in the shop!I spied this fantastic 50's fabric in the 'rags' pile saved for dog baskets etc! So I got nearly 2 metres for £1!!! Yes I am shouting because seriously can you believe that?
The next shop was great too. This vintage tablecloth is in perfect unused condition and again was only and a pound.I also picked up a vintage christening gown and bonnet that I will add to my very small but growing collections of vintage clothing.
The next shop was not nearly as exciting and I came away empty handed.Something I very rarely do!By shop number four my time was almost up and I headed straight to the books section where I found a couple of vintage Deans chidrens books from the 70's and this very well loved copy of Something To Do
I already have my own copy and know someone else who finds it very inspiring.Such a lovely book full of ideas for children to keep them busy.So this is my little blessing for you this week.Just leave a comment and I'll get one of my little ones to draw a name out a hat (or something similar!) on monday.
